Teachers are often the first trusted adult a student turns to when struggling. Their presence offers stability, safety, and connection in moments that matter. But this proximity to student distress, whether expressed through overwhelm, shutdown, frustration, or emotional intensity, can place educators in complex, demanding situations. In schools today, staff are navigating rising student needs alongside a mental health system that is increasingly stretched. As access to specialist services becomes harder to secure, educators are often expected to hold emotional and behavioural complexity that extends beyond their professional scope and training. These pressures are not a reflection of inadequacy—they’re a reflection of how deeply educators care, and how often they’re asked to hold more than their role was designed to carry. This session introduces boundary literacy as a leadership tool for sustaining staff wellbeing, ethical clarity, and safe school culture. Using a visually engaging framework, we’ll explore nine key types…
